Halloween Safety 1977 & 1985 / 31 Years of Halloween Commercials / Sexy Vintage Pics

Big apologies for my complete failure to keep this updated--this has been the busiest Halloween I've ever experienced in terms of movie and freelance work, so I've just had no time.

But here's a very cool safety video from 1977--look, kids trick or treating at NIGHT! Crazy. (I get a little cranky at kids who trick or treat at 5:30pm...some of us eat dinner, ya know? :) )

And here's one from 1985. I'd like to put all these safety videos together in one video and color correct them. Mebbe I'll do that someday...

This one's also a reminder to me because I want to watch them all tonight--31 years of awesome Halloween commercials!

And here's some cool Betty Grable(or possibly Anne Nagle?) Halloween publicity photos from way back that maybe you haven't seen.

Anyway, gotta go hand out candy to trick or treaters, and then head out to a party.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
(Never enough days!)

Halloween Cookies / Monster Silly Putty / Skeleton House / Brachs Candy Banner / M & M Lights

I know--eleven days into Halloween and I'm only just now posting?

Been busy working on the movie, so it's consuming all my time, but I'll see how many of these I can get up this month...

Here's a cool Halloween cookie box from the 80's(I think). Front and back, and it includes a hologram pumpkin. Cutting edge technology, ya know?

I really wanna know what the cookies looked like...

Next up in some monster silly putty. I had the Dracula silly putty when I was young, which means these are definitely 1970-something.
What's this? A scene from some unknown Harryhausen movie?

Nope, somebody with some cool Halloween decorations. No idea who.

This is a cool, VERY long banner. Here's the whole thing, then the close up of the repeating pattern.

Lastly are these M&M Halloween lights. I don't see a lot of demand for these, which is probably why this is the only picture I've ever found of them.

Still, kind of neat.

Lastly, here's some cool Halloween screensavers and images you an download.

This is a pretty cool way to make a jack o'lantern candy bowl for ice cream or other goodies. Gonna pass this on to the wife:

And these are some pretty cool windshield wiper decorations that are macabre enough for Halloween all throughout the year.

Halloween Candles and Pillows and Other Awesome Stuff

https://horrordecor.net/collections/halloween

This is really more of a note to myself to go buy some of this cool stuff. That headless horseman potholder's pretty cool, but I'd rather have it on a pillowcase or something.

But they have some really cool candles like this one:
I mean, how sweet is that? Burns for like 110 hours and smells like pumpkin.

They have others, ones that look like ghosts that smell like baked apple pie, and more! (I think one smells like candy corn, and I can tell you that I like the smell of candy corn better than the taste...)

Check it out--I'm going to get me some of these before Halloween, so I have to order soon! (it takes 21 days to get the items because they're all handmade)

Shasta Ad & Looking For Haunted Houses This Halloween Season?

Then this web site can help you out:
https://www.thescarefactor.com/

And how about Shasta soda? Remember it?

I remember that jingle--this one:

That song I remember. Is that Deborah Foreman there though?

But here's a vintage Halloween sign--I don't have an exact date, but probably 80's.

Big Lot Decorations & Ben Cooper Star Wars Wicket & Tatoo Bubble Gum

A lot of stores are getting their Halloween decorations out already. Saw some at Lowe's a couple of days ago, and was in Big Lot today and saw they had a lot of Animated Decorations(above) and then this pretty cool big scarecrow. I think he did something but I didn't test it.

Then there's the great Ben Cooper, and a mask you don't see too often(and heck, I never saw it back in the day either)...the Ewok Wicket!

Lastly, I think I remember this gum or something like it. But what's it got to do with Halloween? Check out the Tattoo of a witch inside!

Cool Halloween Art

Thought I'd just showcase a few of the cool images I stumbled on around the internet.

At one point I was going to do an artist's spotlight in my book on Halloween showcasing a few of the artists I liked. Out of the three I contacted, only one got back to me and was acting VERY weird about the whole thing.

I'm thinking...who doesn't like free publicity?

Anyway, here you go! And Halloween is just around the corner...

More Ben Cooper Goodness - Go Bot(?), Transformers, Toucan Sam, Yoda,

I'm not positive the above is a Go-Bot, and I'm not even positive it's Ben Cooper. But I'm about to shoot the first segment of my next flick, so don't have the time to put in the research right now.

But I've been way behind in posting, so figured I should get one of these out...

How many kids actually wanted to dress up like the Fruit Loops mascot, but there ya go.
Is this the color it was supposed to be? I'd have to work seriously hard to get this color corrected to the actual Yoda's skin, so I'm thinking it was probably painted this very weird shade. But he looks more like a smurf than Yoda...

Halloween & Horror Related Newspaper Items

Man, time flies! I'm busy prepping the next movie, the sequel to Terrortory. We just got some dvds, and you can get them at my store here:
http://bit.ly/kkfstore

or Amazon here:
http://amzn.to/2pradtT

But I made the time to get this post out there so here goes:

From October of 1987 comes this cool lineup. Hell, I'd pay today for a double feature of Prince of Darkness and The Hidden. (then I'd sneak into Stakeout)

From October 28 of 1978 comes this TV listing showing the Kiss meets the Phantom movie. Also on the page are some cool B-movie sci-fi and horror flicks. Also on Sunday, Battlestar Galactica. Man, those were the days...

From Nov of 1982 comes this story about dangerous Halloween candy. I scanned it hi enough res you should be able to read it.

Lastly is this article from the SAME newspaper a few days later saying NOPE. Not the candy.

Ben Cooper President Mask / Topstone Werewolf Masks / Ray Villafane Scarecrows

Okay, so the one above isn't a president...well, maybe some people think that's Trump. But below are Jimmy Carter and Ted Kennedy(he was popular enough to warrant a mask?). He wasn't a president as far as I know, but maybe there's some alternate timeline where he was...

Here's a couple of cool Topstone rubber masks. A "bobby" policeman, followed by a cool werewolf.

Finally, a couple new pumpkin sculpts from my favorite pumpkin sculptor Ray Villafane. (I have a short section about him in the book)

Die Cut Pumpkin & Witch(Dennison and Hallmark), Plus Spook Town Ben Cooper Clown Costume

First up today are some die-cuts from assorted companies. I never get tired of seeing new die-cuts.

This witch is from Dennison. Not sure of the year.
No idea of the company or year of this pumpkin.
This pumpkin, however, is from Hallmark. Unknown year.

This is a Spook Town clown from Ben Cooper,  1963. Mask, not so scary. Clown on costume though...that's a little iffy...
